Visions in Blue Eyes

Like water crashing on the shores, your tears move me too.
A never ending crescendo,
crashing,
tearing apart the sand that were born from monstrous rocks,
beaten down against the current,
thrown back and forth from the ocean until finally settling on these shores.
When the ocean is calm, I can see everything out to the horizon and glimpses beyond it.
I know you saw it
Too
Now
With a storm coming, thrashing at the shoreline
Destroying the shells in its path
Making clams cough and sputter up their shells
I realized how foolish it was to see the ocean as only a thing of beauty
And not of something of immense power
That no matter how hard I tried
I could never quite reach.
