Kindred

The state of the world is such that when I see an American with melanin, I see kin. They could be from any race. The fact is we share the stares of hate, probably don’t want to debate, and are worried about our birthplace’s fate.

I have kin with no melanin that are horrified. Their mouths are agape when they hear hate and they don’t hesitate to denounce the ill words the commander-and-thief, the man who lied.

We are being robbed of our decency and bullied into complacency. I am afraid that my rage will mask the meaning,. I have put on my love lenses so that I can see more clearly.
